Winiarnia Bachus

The tradition of retail of Zielona Gora wines in the basement of the town hall dates back to the sixteenth century. Also after the war, local wines could be tasted in Bacchus wine bar, which operated in the historic cellar. Bacchus restaurant still continues the tradition as it was opened in the Old Town in August 2015 by brothers Adam and Alexander Kremer.

A few steps down, below the stained glass of Bacchus and you enter the basement with vaulted brick arches. The crude, Gothic scenery, a dozen tables and the wine list with Lubusz wine. The atmosphere draws us into the atmosphere of an old wine tradition back in the days when almost on every hill surrounding the city grapes was grown and wine at times of yield flowed in streams. What is the taste of wines from Lubusz vineyards, such as Kinga, Milosz, St. Vincent and Stara Winna Góra. You have to see it for yourself.

The Kremers have traded wine, have run their shop "Wines of the World" (Wina Świata) since 1997 in Kupiecka Street. Among the hundreds of kinds of world wines, first and foremost right at the entrance you will find local wines from popular wineries. Buying wine is not enough. It is possible, and even in good taste, to chat about the wines and the owner knowledgeably talks you through their characteristics and can recommend an appropriate one for a specific dish.
